About our Service
LiSS offers a free, confidential and expert advisory service to applicants and students. We provide guidance and specialist case-working in the areas of student funding eligibility, bursaries and issues where previous study impacts future funding. If you have trouble managing your money, we can also help you plan your finances while at university.
Our advisers are based across the University and are here to help with a wide range of funding or money issues. We are usually available at Open Days and Visit Days as well as offering one-to-one advice via telephone with a prior appointment.
How to Contact Us
If you have a simple enquiry or just need some quick advice, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will usually respond within 2-3 working days, however at peak times this may extend to 5 working days.
For more complex queries (such as where previous study may affect entitlement to current student funding) that will require an appointment or ongoing support, please complete our online referral form. This will enable us to gather information to prepare support, track your case and arrange for a caseworker to get in touch for an initial telephone appointment. All information gathered is treated in the strictest confidence.
If you do find yourself in a financial emergency, then call us on 01524 590959 and ask for a ‘Crisis Appointment with the Duty Money Advisor’. Please be prepared to leave your details (including a telephone number) for the Duty Adviser to call you back as soon as possible.
