UPDATE ON 2020 RESULTS

Following the announcement on A-levels, GCSEs, BTEC and Cambridge Technical & National results we want to reassure all students that we are here to support you and will continue to guide you through this to enable you to start your new adventure with us in September 2020.

The changes during 2020 have continued to be very challenging for students seeking a university place and we know this has been very unsettling. We will provide you with further advice and guidance as soon as we can, and our website will be updated as soon as new information is released by the Government, Ofqual and UCAS.

If you have any questions about your grades or your application with us please call us on 0808 178 7373.

BTEC NATIONALS AND CAMBRIDGE TECHNICAL & NATIONAL RESULTS

Although we have been told that no grades will go down as part of this review we appreciate this will cause additional uncertainty for students. We want to make sure we keep you up to date with what is happening with your offer or application with us and below provides a summary.

You have accepted University of Cumbria as your firm place
  • You don’t need to do anything. Your place is confirmed and secure. The announcement does not affect your place with us and we look forward to welcoming you in September.

You have not been accepted on your preferred course, or not had your place confirmed, and are now expecting your results to be changed
  • We are awaiting the revised exams results to inform our decisions.
  • You can ask your school or college to send a copy of your grades to us at ugadmissions@cumbria.ac.uk  We will then contact you to confirm next steps.
  • If you have been offered a place on a different course from your preferred choice and now receive higher grades, we will review your application on an individual basis. We will do our best to place you on your preferred course.

You are applying to us through clearing and now expect your grades to be changed
  • Your offer will be dependent on confirmation of your grades being provided either by your school or college or being confirmed by UCAS.
  •  We will provide you with further advice and guidance as soon as we can, and our website will be updated as soon as new information is released.

A-LEVELS AND GCSES ANNOUNCEMENT

We will use your highest grades against any offers we have already made or for new offers we made during Clearing. Please be aware we do not yet have full access to all the revised exam results from UCAS but we are expecting them mid/late afternoon on the 20th August 2020.
