Business Placement Services

Help with your short term recruitment needs

The Business Placements Service works with all types and sizes of businesses in Cumbria and North Lancashire to find current EU students or graduates with the skills required to complete short-term business projects (between 2 and 13 weeks).  We are also able to help with projects that do not fall within this timescale.

Benefits to your company

  • An extra pair of helping hands to address a particular business issue, leaving you time to get on with running your company
  • A low risk way of finding a new permanent employee
  • The student or graduates does not go on your company payroll *
  • Payments made to the student or graduate are free of NI and tax contributions *
  • Council subsidies may be available to help with the cost of your placement student

* For placements of between 2 and 13 weeks in duration

UNITE with Business

We are currently running a project called UNITE with business which could provide up to four weeks help at no COST to the business.

Aimed at helping small businesses in the North West, this project will provide business support for a period of up to 20 days, via graduates and final year university undergraduate students. The nature of the work will be to address a skills or resource shortage within the company.

Working with your business we can

  • Help source a suitable recent graduate or student for your needs
  • Support you to ensure that the student achieves the best for your business
  • Administer and pay them for up to four weeks to undertake work on your project.
