CRED
Centre for Regional Economic Development
The Centre for Regional Economic Development (CRED) within the Business School at the University of Cumbria is a multidisciplinary research centre dedicated to analysis of contemporary issues affecting local and regional economies in the north of England situated within a European and global context.
CRED disseminates its research through academic publications, conference papers, and seminars hosted in Carlisle. The Centre also produces the Cumbria Economic Bulletin in collaboration with the Cumbria Economic Intelligence Partnership.
The Centre carries out research commissions on behalf of a wide range of local authorities, development agencies and organisations with responsibility for economic development particularly in the North West Region of England and the county of Cumbria. Researchers in CRED have also been involved in international research collaborations funded through the EU Framework Programme and other sources.
