FDSc Forestry|
This vocational course allows you to develop specialist knowledge, understanding and skills in the forestry sector. It is suited to new entrants or mid-career foresters wanting to up-skill. For students not employed, the one-year work placement is a chance to experience a real-life working environment. The emphasis is on the practical application of skills and knowledge; you can also follow vocational certificate courses recognised by the industry. The National School of Forestry is a centre of vocational excellence. Your employability is our prime concern.

BSc (Hons) Forestry Top-up|
This course is specifically designed for people who have an Higher National Diploma or foundation degree in forestry (or an equivalent qualification) and who wish to study for an honours degree. The course builds on the academic and practical skills you have already acquired. All modules are designed to be highly relevant to professional practice in the forestry sector.

BSc (Hons) Forest and Woodland Management|
From the conifers of the boreal and temperate belts to the tropical rainforests, the environmental, social and economic importance of forests means that there are exciting opportunities for graduates worldwide. This distinctive course allows you to develop expertise in the scientific principles, technical practice and applied management of forests. You will also be able to gain skills relevant to broader conservation and natural resource management. You will have opportunity to take an optional one-year work placement - we have a strong network of professional contacts to help you find a suitable situation. This programme has a strong vocational focus and is geared towards equipping you with the understanding and skills required of a diverse and dynamic profession.

MSc Forest Ecosystem Management|
The course aims to give you a thorough grounding in the disciplines needed by a professional forester, together with an appreciation of the wider issues facing all natural resource managers. We challenge you to think critically of the importance of forests as ecosystems while assessing their benefits to mankind.
There are core modules in Forest Ecology and Ecosystems, Silviculture, and Forest Management (with an optional overseas field course). Optional modules include GIS, Project Planning, Conservation Biology and Global Environmental Issues. The dissertation gives you the chance to study in depth a topic of your own choice.
