'ILLUMINATE UNDERGROUND' DAY COURSE

The course is being operated by the North Pennines Heritage Trust on Alston Moor and is entitled ‘Illuminate Underground’.

Mine Explorer and photographer Mike Hrybyk will be leading a trip underground into one of the old lead and zinc mines. These 100-300yr old mines are a completely different environment to that of caves/ potholing and make for a unique experience. The cost to the public for this day is £25 but we would be willing to offer it to University of Cumbria students for a discounted price of £15 (includes 1yr free membership to the North Pennines Heritage Trust- an insurance requirement).
The course is on Saturday 23rd May from 10am-6pm. Places are limited and pre-booking is required with Hannah on 01434 382037 or education@npht.com|

A compact digital camera and tripod are required but helmets and cap lamps will be provided. Further information will be supplied on booking.
