Richard Leafe, Chief Executive of the Lake District National Park will visit the University of Cumbria's Ambleside campus to talk to students about the vision for the Lake District National Park and the critical role National Parks can play in society today.

Richard will deliver a talk entitled: "The Lake District National Park - fit for the 21st Century?" at 10 am on Wednesday 25 March, to Outdoor Studies students and staff at the university. The visit is part of the Outdoor Studies bi -annual open lecture series.

Dr Kate Rawles, Senior Lecturer in Outdoor Studies at the University says:

"We are absolutely delighted that Richard Leafe is coming to talk to us. It is a really great opportunity for our Outdoor Studies students - and staff - to find out more about how the Park is managed, what the dilemmas and issues are, and to hear Richard's vision for the future. I am particularly interested in the role he thinks National Parks can play in combating climate change and I know many of our students have questions lined up for him. It's going to be a lively occasion!"
