Learning, Information and Student Services (LISS) supports the learning, teaching and research needs of students and staff of the university by providing pro-active, academically focused services, innovative learning spaces and modern facilities.

Libraries & Learning - including Libraries, Learning Resources, Skills development
Student Services - including Careers, Money, Health & Wellbeing, Disability

Our services

LISS is responsible for libraries, information advice ipadbooksand guidance, employability and information and academic skills, student health and wellbeing and development. We actively work to support student success, progression and employability. We do this by providing access to high-quality learning resources, information, expertise and facilities using appropriate technology.

We aim to:

Treat you with respect at all times and provide equality of service

  • Be available for timed appointments and drop in sessions
  • Provide accurate, timely and impartial information, resources, advice and guidance
  • Within the guidelines, treat interviews and discussions in confidence
  • Provide you with cost effective and high quality learning resources to help you make the best use of information for study and scholarship
  • Train and teach you how to make the best use of university resources in your academic work
  • Enable you to be confident in your chosen course of study so you can be an independent learner, able to apply your knowledge and experience to fulfil your academic and personal goals
