Courses

Autism

These courses are delivered in partnership with the National Autistic Society to promote understanding of the Autistic Spectrum and to develop an understanding of appropriate approaches and interventions for people on the Autistic Spectrum. They will also enable reflection on current practice and to provide alternatives if required.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is rooted in a philosophical belief that theory and practice are inexorably linked to and critically inform each other. CBT is therefore conceptually (theoretically) driven rather than technique driven. As a result the programme aims to produce subject specialists that can provide formulation driven interventions from a ‘first principles’ assessment and evaluation rather than reliance on a manualised or procedural approach.

Person-centred Therapy

We offer rigorous courses that address professional, personal and academic aspects at the appropriate level of the course. As a team we hold the belief that Person-centred counselling is at its heart about the meeting of human beings. We work to ensure that the courses are congruent with the Person-centred Approach and aim to create opportunities to enable students to develop and deepen their learning and experience in the Approach. In so doing we are also continually growing and developing.
