Student Stories

Here's what a few of our students thought about studying Health, Wellbeing and Sport at the University of Cumbria.

Anna Blythe

Anna Blythe
Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

I am a support worker for adults with learning disabilities; I have done this for 10 years now and wanted to further my career. I chose this course as it was something I always wanted to do and as I had some care experience this was an ideal course for me.

The tutors are very encouraging and are always there to offer support; they also offer a wide scope of knowledge and academic advice. The university offers a wide range of support whether its research material or advise on living arrangements. And also socially there are plenty of places to catch up over coffee.

Aimee Rostern AimeeRosternSportExerciseScience

BA(Hons) Sport and Exercise Science

"I would say to prospective students - do it! I’m in my second year now and have enjoyed every minute of this course. At this university, as well, it is very easy to achieve one-to-one sessions with lecturers who are more than happy to do so. This course can open so many doors for you in terms of the job you get in the future, the experiences you will acquire whilst on the course and the opportunities to get qualifications in every sport."
