In this section, you'll find further information about what you need to do to complete the next phase of your admission to the University of Cumbria

If you are resident in the UK and are starting a course that does not require a DBS check, you must provide evidence that you have a 'right to study'. Please see the information below that you need to upload to the Applicant Portal. You will need to provide this before registration.

If you are resident in the UK and are starting a course that requires a DBS check, you must also provide evidence that you have a 'right to work'. Please click on the link below for more information. You will need to provide this before you can start your DBS application.

What is the 'Right to Study' check?

The university has a responsibility to ensure that every student studying at the institution has the right to study in the UK. If you are already resident in the UK, you must provide evidence that you have a right to study in the UK by uploading a copy of either your passport, photo ID such as driving licence, birth certificate, or biometric permit/visa/settled status to your Applicant Portal.

Please note that if your course requires a DBS check we will need to confirm your 'right to work' in the UK instead of the right to study. We cannot start the DBS process until your right to work is checked and confirmed. Please see our Right to Work guidance here.
