Qualifications – UK degree (normally a 2:1 Hons degree. Applicants with a 2:2 Hons degree will be considered and a decision made based on the overall strength of their application in competition with other applicants), GCSE English Language, Mathematics and Science (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications. Additional curriculum subject knowledge e.g. further two GCSEs in Primary National Curriculum subjects. For Primary French we require minimum A-level grade C in French or equivalent French language skills.
School Experience – for Primary 5-11 years we require a minimum 10 days experience in a mainstream UK primary school covering KS1/KS2 (five in each) gained within the last two years. For Lower Primary 3-7 years we require a minimum 10 days experience in a mainstream UK primary school covering Foundation/Key Stage 1 (five in each) gained within the last two years.
Criminal Record Background clearance/Fitness to Teach – these are standard requirements for all teacher training courses.
