Selection criteria
This award is suitable for practitioners who are involved in the delivery of health and social care/psychologically focussed interventions across a range of disciplines, roles and service areas.
You must have:
-
A Core Health/Social Care Qualification or Portfolio that demonstrates equivalence (4 years full time clinical experience)
-
Two Years post qualification in mental health or similar experience
-
Access to adult clients presenting with anxiety or depression
-
Access to a CBT Supervisor (if you are aiming to become a BABCP accredited practitioner on completion of the course your Supervisor will need to be a BABCP accredited Supervisor)
-
Ability to record therapeutic sessions (typically video recordings)
You must be supervised one hour per week all the way through your course and the expectation is that the vast majority of that supervision consists of you presenting videos of your work. The course team would expect you to have seen around 10 clients through full courses of therapy by the end of the course.
You need to identify and contact a supervisor to support you. There will usually be a charge made by the supervisor for this, as a private arrangement with you. Group supervision sessions are an integral part of the University course, but the individual/paired supervision is also required.
