Common room and cybercafé

 You can chill out and take a break in our recently refurbished common room, complete with TV and games facilities. Our FE students also have a brand new cybercafé, with computers linked to the university network, and a refreshment area

Sport at Penrith

In 2005 the campus started the up-grades to its sporting facilities. The centre is staffed every day to allow groups and individuals to train whenever they wish. New equipment has been purchased for all sports as well as new technogym resistance equipment. The centre now boasts a state-of-the art, third generation, all-weather pitch suitable for football and rugby, as well as two grass pitches and a training area, two tarmac tennis courts and a three-court badminton hall. Equestrian centre

The equestrian centre consists of an indoor school with a fibre sand and rubber vaseline-coated surface; seating for 100 people; an outdoor floodlit arena; a selection of cross-country jumps; stable yard; and practical teaching rooms.

Animal academy

A new £1 million Cumbria Academy for Animal Studies was opened in 2003 by world renowned primatologist, Dame Jane Goodall. The academy consists of reptile and mammal rooms, an aquarium and aviaries, together with food preparation, animalcare facilities and lecture rooms.

Campus Early Years Centre

The centre provides childcare from Monday to Friday, 08.30 to 17.30. A team of qualified nursery practitioners caters for children aged from three months to five years. Older children can be accommodated during holiday periods.
