Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act provides access to a wide range of information held by public bodies. It gives the public the right to request access to information, and places requirements on public bodies on how they respond to requests for information.

The Publication Scheme

The University Publication Scheme |lists the information which we already make routinely available. Most of the information listed in the Scheme is already available on our Website, or can be requested using the contact details shown.

Requesting Information

You can also request information which is not already listed in the Publication Scheme. Under the Freedom of Information Act you have the right to be told whether the University has the information and to to receive a copy of the information (subject to cost limitations and exemptions).

Data Protection Requests

Under the Data Protection Act, you also have the right to request a copy of information which the University holds on you. There is a £10 charge for these kinds of requests and you must provide proof of your identity.

Please complete the Subject Access Request Form| if you wish to make a request for information held about you. As the form must be signed by you, please print it off and return it to us in hard copy.
