Blackboard
What is Blackboard?
Blackboard is the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) used by the University. It is another resource provided by the University to support learning. It looks and operates like a web page that has been set up by your tutor. What's on it depends on the tutor but it can provide access to course information, course materials, relevant web links and an on-line discussion board.
You may find Getting Started with Blackboard: a guide for students| (pdf) helpful.
How do I access it?
Your tutor will tell you if they have set up Blackboard for your module or course. If they have, go to the Blackboard web site at https://mylearning.cumbria.ac.uk/| and enter your username and password.
(There is also a link to Blackboard on the University home page.)
USERNAME : is your University network login
PASSWORD : same as your network/email login
Once you are in the site a list of the Blackboard modules that you have access to is displayed. Select the one you want.
If your Username doesn't work
Please make sure that a Blackboard module does exist for your course (ask your tutor).
If everyone else can access it apart from you, you need to check with your tutor that they have registered you for the module.
For further information and trouble shooting check the Knowledgebase. |
If you have checked all of the above and you still can't log in, please contact LISS service desk|.
