What is Your Files?

Question:
What is Your Files?
Answer:

The ‘Your Files’ service is a secure way for any registered member of the University can safely access files and resources on the University network from remote locations.

All staff and students can access files in their shared folders (the ‘H’ and ‘Z’ drives) to work on documents or upload files, and access other services such as the University intranet and timetables.

You can access Your Files from the University of Cumbria website under Current Students.

Log in using your University username and password. You may be prompted to install software or a script. Please install/allow to continue.

Once you have logged in you will see a list of links to resources you have access to.

Please note

  • You cannot edit documents through Your Files. You first must save the file to your computer, edit it then upload the document back to Your Files once you’ve finished.
  • It is very important that you log out of Your Files once you’re done to especially if you are using a public computer. This is done by clicking the Sign out button in the top right of each page.
