Username and passwords

Your university username and password will:

  • Allow you to log onto any of the university computers
  • Give you access to your own storage area on the university network (H: drive)
  • Give you access to your own printing account
  • Provide you with a university email address
  • Log you onto the university's Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard)
  • Log you onto Pebblepad (Your personal learning space)
  • Log you onto 'Your Files', which is your off-site access to university resources
  • Give you access to all of the online resources provided by the university. 

Students

If you are a returning student your previous usernames and passwords may still work.  If they don't or if you have forgotten them please contact the IT Service Desk and explain that you are a returning student.  

New students

Register for the Student Password Reset Service

Register here. This new service will allow you to reset your user account password by registering a secret question and answer. This will also eliminate the requirement to contact the IT Service Desk if you forget your password. After registering (please allow 15 minutes for the registration process to complete), you will be able to change your password using the automated service.

Staff

All staff accounts will be automatically created through the HR process.

If you have any questions about your new account please contact the IT Service Desk.  It is important that you familiarise yourself with the regulations for the use of university computing facilities.
