Galleries and museums
Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery is one of the biggest contemporary art galleries in the region. With a commitment to local communities, many of our students have work featured in exhibitions.
West Walls Studios acts as a working base for a group of contemporary artists who all live and work in North East Cumbria. The artists work in a wide variety of media ranging from painting, print, installation and video to sculpture and illustration.
Work by local artists is also showcased in Foxes Café Lounge, The Source, the Crown Art Gallery and more. All are exceptionally welcoming and inviting - well worth popping in for a coffee and a cake!
And we can't, of course, fail to mention the spectacular Carlisle Castle. With Border Reivers tours, the picnic area, a unique gift shop and being so close to Hadrian's Wall, the castle is a great way to spend half a day.
