Nightlife

Penrith as a place of study, work or to live is one of those gems that once you’ve visited you feel compelled to come back.

Toppers

A great venue for students, Toppers offers discounts on entry and regular deals on drinks. Guest DJs such as Annie Savage, once named one of the top ten DJs in Britain, provide a vibrant, lively atmosphere. By producing a valid student NUS card, students also get a pound off the entry price.

Blue Jay Way

A popular cocktail bar with students is Blue Jay Way. A good starting point for your night out, with two for one deals on Wednesdays.

Warehouse

Warehouse is Penrith’s equivalent to Walkabout, with two dance floors, cheap entry and special events such as ladies night, when girls get in for free.

Pubs

Students can take advantage of Penrith’s ample pub scene, with The Board and Elbow (who run a quiz night every Wednesday), The Wolfe, The Agricultural Hotel and The Lowther Arms being favoured watering holes for students.

Music

Live music in Penrith is often organised by the Students' Union, as they organise music events and DJs in various locations round the town, such as The Wolfe pub. The Warehouse have live bands playing, including modern acoustic folk band Alex and the Wonderband.
