Penrith Early Years Centre
A day nursery providing care for babies and children aged from 3 months to 7 years.
With a maximum of 47 places, the nursery has quickly established a good reputation for both high quality staffing and being a high quality physical resource.
There are extensive outdoor play areas where the children have great opportunities for outdoor activities. Outings around the campus to the Animal Care Unit and the Library are complemented by the weekly Forest School visits.
The Penrith campus is also home to a successful Childhood Studies department and the provision of the Early Years Centre benefits childcare students on the campus by providing a working environment in which best practice can be observed.
Please note that as of 1 August 2011, this provision is now being run by Askham Bryan College.
Hours of opening and fees
The Early Years Centre is open Monday to Friday throughout the year, with the exception of Bank holidays and approximately 1 week at Christmas. The opening times of the nursery are 8.00am to 5.30pm.
Sessions
Sessions run from 8.30am to 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 5.30pm (notice of 1 week is required to start at 8.00am and stay until 6pm).

Holidays
Parents/carers are entitled to 6 weeks holiday at half price and are based on the hours that the child attends each week. Holidays run from September—August and we must have at least two weeks notice for all holidays before a reduction in fees can take place.
