Biography

My teaching experience began 20 years ago in a theatre school where I taught singing to students aged 4-18. My love of literature and media developed into teaching roles in secondary, further and higher education. As my career progressed I held senior leadership roles in schools. This led me to working for an education charity delivering school improvement in all education settings as an Achievement Coach. I am currently a regional lead for the charity and my work spans the North West from Stafford to Carlisle and across into the North East of England. In my position as an Academic Developer in our new Centre for Academic Practice Enhancement, I use my experience of working with education professionals to support their development of practice. My role is specifically focused on supporting academics new to teaching in HE and new to UoC. I own a small business delivering coaching solutions to organisations and individuals and am passionate about the power of coaching to inspire change and development. I am committed to working with colleagues at UoC to renew our coaching network and to embed a coaching culture across the university.
