Recent attacks within the United Kingdom and overseas have highlighted the need for secure environments. In this masterclass, we will examine current terrorist threats and methodologies alongside design considerations in addressing the risk of terrorist activity.

You will be presented with a virtual environment and simulated intelligence relating to a threat, and design your own security measures to address the threat. Environments such as airports, national infrastructure and sports grounds will feature in the exercise.

The session will be delivered by a leading member of academic staff and has been designed for anyone who has an interest in pursuing a career in policing, criminology or intelligence.

Masterclass award

You will be awarded 16 UCAS points** for attending this masterclass.

** NB. The reduction will be applied on application. Points cannot be redeemed retrospectively if you have already applied to the university; they can only be redeemed against University of Cumbria courses linked to the masterclass.
