Students meet STEM employers at Bitesize Careers Event

Students meet STEM employers at Bitesize Careers Event name

This April a STEM employers event was held on campus in Carlisle by the Careers and Employability Service. This afternoon event was aimed at current students and University of Cumbria alumni. We had a range of fantastic speakers including Fran Ward from C-STEM, Lucy Dunn from the Lake District Wildlife Park and Libby Shaw from the Careers and Employability Service. Our speakers covered topics such as STEM ambassador roles, networking opportunities, work experience, volunteering, the chance to get involved in research projects, and an introduction to the Career Ahead Employability Award. Following the talks, students and delegates moved into a networking lunch with representatives from the Lake District Wildlife Park, BPD Zenith, C-STEM, Amey, Army Careers, Enterprise Rent a Car and Sellafield. Offering the chance to speak to employers about short-term and summer intern placements, career options in STEM and graduate opportunities.
