The University of Cumbria’s director of industrial strategy is a keynote speaker at a major education conference underway at the University of Business and Technology (UBT) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Professor Andy Gale is speaking today (Tues Feb 20) about project management discussing how it can be introduced to an organisation and the role it plays in developing collaborative links.
Organisers say the two-day conference aims to debate the challenges and opportunities of higher education in the Middle East and North Africa.
Delegates include a mix of state, private and public employers drawn from an international field. It’s estimated more than 2,000 students will attend the event which will be hosted by Dr Abdullah Dahlan chairman of University of Business and Technology.
The conference also allows delegates the chance to meet with key ministries and government officials in the education sector of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC.)
“This is an established regional conference and among the themes we are discussing are education, employability and graduate employment,” Prof Gale said. “I can see real opportunities here for future collaboration.”
