Cumbria staff and students support #25andRising campaign

Staff from the University of Cumbria travelled to Westminster to support a campaign to highlight all that modern universities and their students have achieved over the past 25 years.

MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, celebrated the #25andRising campaign with an event held in the State Rooms at Speaker’s House and was hosted by the Speaker, The Rt Hon John Bercow MP.

The event provided an opportunity for Parliamentarian to meet with staff and students from modern universities. The event was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Sandra Booth, principal lecturers Don Hall and Farhat Ibrahim and Tracy Jennings, a London alumni student who is currently a deputy headteacher.

University staff took the opportunity to explain to a number of Parliamentarians the significant impact of the work of the University of Cumbria in locations across the country.
