‘Don’t panic’ is the message to students still looking to confirm a place to study at the University of Cumbria after receiving A-level results.
A brightly coloured double decker bus, which has already clocked up over 500 miles and attracted more than 1700 people, will continue to travel across the north of England until the end of the month generating enquiries and applications for clearing and entry in 2019 and beyond.
The bus is due to call at Cockermouth (Saturday 18), Ambleside, Penrith, Newcastle, Kendal, Workington and Grasmere. A full route map and precise locations can be viewed here: https://www.cumbria.ac.uk/clearing/#events
A call centre staffed by 100 academic and professional staff is continuing to field calls from students on 0808 1787373 with around 70 offers made so far.
Tomorrow open days at campuses are being held to give candidates the chance of meeting academics and to get a feel for the places that could soon become home.
“The meticulous planning over recent months ensured that this vital process for the university launched smoothly once again,” Chief Operating Officer David Chesser said.
A clearing guide and full information has been developed by the university.
