Student wellbeing service expands
The University of Cumbria is to expand the wellbeing support it offers students in Ambleside, Lancaster and Carlisle.
The university, which has received praise for taking a lead in offering widespread training for staff working with students, is now recruiting three part-time mental health case workers.
The new posts are in addition to two full time case workers recruited 18 months ago as part of the University of Cumbria's pledge to offer a high degree of personal support to students.
“The mental health case workers sit within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team, which also includes psychological therapists (counsellors and psychotherapists),” David Wilson, mental health and wellbeing manager at the University of Cumbria said. “It’s vital that we’re able to offer the best support. These posts will help us provide even more on a 1-2-1 basis as well as facilitating workshops for students.”
Applications for the posts, to be received by Tuesday 28th August, are now welcomed.
