TEF application submitted
The University of Cumbria has applied to be considered in Year Two of the Teaching Excellence Framework.
Almost 300 universities and colleges have chosen to participate in the scheme introduced in 2016 by the government to recognise and reward excellence in teaching.
Participating universities will be evaluated based on student satisfaction, student retention and graduate employment. Each institution will then be awarded a rating of gold, silver, or bronze.
The Higher Education Funding Council for England has confirmed what it says is a high proportion of submissions made by this weeks’ deadline.
A panel made up of academics, students assessors and employers will now consider the university’s submission with a decision due in May.
