University professor of practice appears on network radio

One of the university’s newly appointed professors of practice has appeared on BBC Radio 3 to talk about her part in a forthcoming nationwide tour.

Valerie Reid joined broadcaster Sean Rafferty to discuss the English Touring Opera’s production of the Gilbert and Sullivan light opera 'Patience’ in which she’ll play the part of Jane.

The production opens next week at the Hackney Empire before going on tour. The nearest venue to Cumbria will be a performance on 15 May 2017 at The Gala Theatre in Durham.

Valerie, the first opera singer to perform on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury, has established links to the University of Cumbria that will see her assist students on the technical aspects of singing and performance as part of the performing arts course.
