University's Clearing hotline opens this Thursday!
The University of Cumbria opens its Clearing hotline this Thursday (13 August) to support students as they receive their A-level results.
The call centre opens at 7.00am and our expert call handlers will be able to offer guidance on the availability of courses, eligibility, interviews, course details and other support services.
There are still some spaces left for students who meet the entry requirements in the following subject areas: Teaching, Sport, English, Business, Law and Social Sciences, Creative Arts, Performance, Applied Psychology, Social work, Sciences and Policing. For the most up to date list please check our website.
This year there will be more Clearing hotlines than ever before and they will be manned by more students and academics. Chances are callers will be speaking to current students or even their course tutor who will be able to offer advice on their options and give them the low down on what it’s really like to study at the university.
The university is also offering specialist advice and guidance to teachers and others supporting and advising students in schools and colleges who are contemplating Clearing. The dedicated number for teachers is 01228 616333.
The university has more routes into learning than ever before so even if students haven’t got the grades they were hoping for or are returning to studies later in life, a four-year foundation entry level course could provide the perfect answer.
The university recently expanded its foundation year programme and now offers them in a number of subject areas, from Business and Creative Arts to Law and the Sciences. For the most complete and current list of courses visit our website.
Gill Haigh, Director of Marketing and Recruitment, says: “There are more opportunities than ever before to get into university this year, so if things haven’t gone to plan, give us a call and we’ll take you through your options. The possibilities are endless.”
Course vacancies will be kept up to date on the university website and students can follow the university on Twitter (@CumbriaUni) or Facebook throughout the day.
The clearing call centre number (08081 787373) will be open from 7.00am-7.00pm on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 August, then 9.00am-5.00pm on the Saturday and normal office hours from Monday 17 August. There will also be opportunities to visit the university campuses on Saturday 15 August.
