The University of Cumbria was part of a delegation from the county that travelled to Westminster to take part in an event aimed at showcasing the county on Cumbria Day (Tues 11 Dec.)
Ewan Pullan, the University’s Employer Engagement Manager for Enterprise & Business Development, was there and said the day attracted much interest with the event trending on Twitter at one point.
“From my perspective it was great to work with our Choose Cumbria colleagues to promote Cumbria as a place to set up business and to work,” Ewan said.
Stands were set up in one of the meeting rooms in Portcullis House and there was a constant stream of visitors. Speeches were made by Graham Heywood (Director of Cumbria LEP), Tim Farron MP (Westmorland and Lonsdale), Rory Stewart MP (Penrith and the Border), Jamie Reed MP (Copeland), John Stevenson MP (Carlisle) and Sue Hayman MP (Workington).
