Welcome to your course
Welcome to the University of Cumbria and to the BA (Hons) Programme in Working with Children & Families. You have chosen an exciting course that allows you a broader scope of careers in the future. You can shape your degree to through our two pathways to suite and develop your personal interests and strengths. This course can lead to careers which will enable you to work with a wide variety of people in a range of different contexts or additional postgraduate study. The programme has been designed to be flexible but to enhance your existing platforms of knowledge to enable you to develop as an informed and empowered professional. We aim to provide a stimulating but supportive learning environment where students can flourish and ultimately become competent, confident, creative, capable and reflective practitioners.
Welcome week provides an excellent opportunity to meet the staff team and other fellow students. You will also be given the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the Campus facilities, the aims and expectations of the course and other additional opportunities available on our campus’.

Timetable for Carlisle and Lancaster
Introductory sessions will be held in September for all students. Please go to the reception on the campus that you will be based and a member of staff will meet you there. We are hoping to have some of the current students involved as you will be studying alongside them. We will also sort out a tour of the facilities and make sure you are all enrolled.
Registration: You will receive an email (to the address you have provided on your application) approximately three weeks prior to the start of the course. This email will contain a link to your online registration form which you must complete as soon as possible in order to register for the course. By completing this online registration form you are committing to starting this course. If for any reason your plans change you must contact us immediately.
