Welcome to your course

A warm welcome to all FdSc Policing students. The team look forward to meeting you in September. Policing remains a popular career, employment opportunities regularly feature on our University of Cumbria: Policing Facebook pages. The number of our students working within the criminal justice sector grows each year; we hope your course will help you join this group.

The University enjoys a good relationship with a number of forces together with the College of Policing for whom we are an ‘Approved Provider’ for pre-join qualifications.

Welcome week provides an opportunity for staff and students to meet and get to know each other. You will be introduced to the campus and University to ease the move into lectures and seminars. The week will allow us to outline the course modules in depth and detail how the course will develop over two years, describing the path to undertaking a placement as a Special Constable in year two if this is your preferred option.
