This short course covers the theoretical aspects of B12 administration and can be used alongside work-based learning for those new to the practice of B12 administration. It can be used as evidence of up-to-date practice.

If you are a HCA this short course will address your learning needs, either as a starter to B12 administration, or evidence of current up-to-date practice.

On completion of the short course, a certificate of attendance with reflection is provided.

Learning Outcomes

  • Undrstand the legal, ethical and professional issues associated with undertaking B12 administration and monitoring
  • Be able to demonstrate effective communication within your consultation
  • Discuss guidelines, policies and protocols needed for administrating and monitoring B12 injections
  • Discuss selection of injection sites, demonstrating understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the arm with consideration of the patient and health care professional safety
