This wound care short course starts at the initial assessment, and considers healing and dressing choice, including those for special wounds, using evidence based practice and the prescribing formulary.
If you are a Primary Care or Community Nurse this short course will address your learning needs in the care of wound care, if you are new to the area or wish an update.
On completion of the short course, a certificate of attendance with reflection is provided.
Learning Outcomes
- Be able to undertake wound assessment
- Understand the phases of and factors affecting healing
- Be able to select a choice of dressing(s) using formulary
- Understand special types of wounds: e.g. burns, skin tears, pressure sores
