Latest Coronavirus Update

Living with Covid

Latest Government Guidance

At the end of February, the government released a series of updated guidance for universities and the general public on living with Covid. As a result we have updated our own guidance as follows:

  • We will continue to ventilate buildings on campus, in line with current guidance.
  • We ask you to make your own choice about wearing a face covering and respect the freedom of choice for staff and students who choose to wear a face covering on campus.
  • Continue to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizers around the campus to maintain good hand hygiene. Minimise the risk of spreading infection from the normal round of winter colds by using the “catch it, bin it, kill it” approach.
  • Make the most of our outdoor spaces where possible to minimise spread of infection.

If You Have COVID, or COVID Symptoms

  • If you have symptoms of Covid please don’t come onto campus, no matter how mild the symptoms are.
  • If you test positive for Covid, follow the current government advice which is to stay at home, avoid contact with others and to not attend campus for five days.

Support for Current Students

The Student Hub includes guidance for a range of issues and situations, including the support we can give to help you deal with Covid-related absence. If you need information about any aspect of your course, placement, support services or accommodation, please log in to your student account for full access to My.Cumbria and the Student Hub.
