Event Overview

If the last few years have highlighted anything, it is the importance of recruitment and retention within the tourism industry. UK Hospitality recently identified that job vacancies in the industry are up by 102% on pre-COVID numbers. The acute shortfall in skilled staff, combined with fundamental changes in the labour market, means that the tourism and hospitality industry must think more creatively about how it recruits, develops and retains its most valuable asset.

Join us at the University of Cumbria’s Ambleside campus to hear from representatives from the Westmorland Group, the Lakeside Hotel and Spa, and Simon Rogan’s Umbel Restaurant Group, about how they are tackling this difficult issue.
