Event Overview

Documentary Filmmaking in our times is a diverse and exciting profession. Documentary Filmmaking can be found working for charities and various campaigns as well as on a broad range of TV and Cinema productions. The documentary genre relates to concepts of truth, realism, objectivity, history and knowledge. In this session we will provide a brief overview of the skills documentary makers should have and how current practitioners explore and challenge the boundaries of documentaries.


There will be discussion around a BAFTA Award Winning TV Natural History documentary series and an outline of how key elements of documentary fit into creating the different kinds of formats.

This session will last around 2 hours, with plenty of time for audience engagement and discussion.
