Future Teachers Outreach Programme 2023 - Lancaster

Event Information

The Future Teachers Programme is built to give students thinking about teaching the experience and knowledge required to make an informed decision about whether a career in teaching is the right choice. 

The Future Teachers is a programme of activity, delivered both virtually and on our campuses, for students in Year 12 or on a Level 3, year 1 college course. The programme is delivered at three University of Cumbria campuses that are home to the Institute of Education: Carlisle Fusehill Street, Lancaster and London.  

Through on-campus discovery days, participants will engage in subject tasters and gain application support sessions during June & July 2023. 

What you get:

• Learn practical teaching skills in interactive and discovery sessions on-campus. 
• Meet the course tutors and current students in your closest campus in either Carlisle, Lancaster or London. 
• Put your new skills to the test in a mock interview. 
• Complete the programme with a Future Teachers Certificate 
• Receive a UCAS Point reduction when applying to a University of Cumbria teacher training programme: Primary Education and Early Years (3-11) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) OR Primary Education: Inclusion with SEND with QTS (5-11 years)*T&Cs apply.
