MA Contemporary Fine Art
“I’ve really enjoyed engaging with the research side of an art practice and the MA has given me impetus to push myself in this area. I very much hope that academic research is something that I manage to maintain going forward. My confidence has grown and I have a different outlook on what I might be able to achieve in the coming years.
“I’m really looking forward to gaining more experience giving tutorials etc. as part of the Fine Art graduate residency scheme. I know there is still a lot to be learnt from working alongside the Fine Art team and that will be really valuable. I will also be setting up my own online business selling vintage homewares which I have been dabbling in for a few years now. I’m hoping this will give flexibility to aid the continuation of my art practice.

“In the longer term I am hoping to find a paid role within the arts sector somewhere. When I finish my course I think I will be most proud of the fact that I have achieved something I didn’t think I could—the MA. The exhibitions I have put on will also be up there, especially the show held underneath Carlisle because of the sheer scale of the task we set ourselves.”
