Since coming to the University of Cumbria in 2016, to study ‘Working with Children and Families’, I have become involved with the Students’ Union in many ways: as a Welcome Helper, as the Health, Psychology and Social Studies Department Rep for the panel, and through being the Dance Society Captain.
I am originally from Penrith, so not too far away from each campus, but have lived in Lancaster throughout my University experience. I love spending time in the outdoors, so going for walks and being adventurous is engaging to me. When I am not working, you will usually find me spending time with family and friends, or pampering my horse.
I am dedicated as the Community and Partnership Officer and Student Director to help make student’s university experience better by making the campuses a more vibrant and inviting place to be. University is a huge step for many individuals, and for a lot it is a ‘home away from home’, which can open many doors and opportunities to the careers they are ambitious to go into. For me to be part of student’s journeys and being able to help them in any way, is an amazing feeling.
