Biography

Rachel leads our multi-functional university-wide service for funding and contracts management (the Project Support Office). This involves leading and managing teams of project and administrative colleagues to ensure successful delivery of externally and internally funded initiatives in accordance with legal, financial and contractual requirements.

Rachel supports all areas of research, knowledge exchange and business development offering recognised experience, expertise and specialist knowledge on existing and potential related income streams and project management. She has worked in various managerial, project and financial roles within the university as well as other public and private sector organisations in Cumbria and London.

The Research & Knowledge Exchange directorate works with our partners, stakeholders, students and staff to promote, facilitate and coordinate our Research & Knowledge Exchange activities, generating positive impact in our society and economy. This includes bidding for external funds or commercial development opportunities, facilitating engagement with employers through events and networks, enabling knowledge exchange and promoting our programmes and CPD courses.

Rachel works closely with our external funders and stakeholders alongside our academic institutes, research centres and careers team to drive forward growth in this strategically significant area of activity for the university.
