Biography

After qualifying as a physiotherapist from the University of Cumbria, I began working in the NHS completing my core rotations and later specialising in MSK outpatient physiotherapy. In 2015 I qualified as a Clinical Pilates Instructor and shortly afterwards, I began teaching Pilates classes to a clinical population.

In 2016, I opened my own private physiotherapy clinic and clinical Pilates studio in Carlisle and worked in the private sector for several years before taking up my role as a physiotherapy lecturer.

Qualifications and memberships

I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).

Academic and research interests

My primary research interests are around persistent pain and the use of exercise (such as Pilates and Nordic Walking) in reducing pain and improving function
