Negotiated learning modules are offered in four sizes, there are 20 credit modules, 30 credit modules, 10 credit modules and 5 credit modules. Learning is self-directed, allowing you to extend your knowledge and understanding in an area of study that complements previous experience and learning.

You select a topic which is relevant to your area of practice and programme of study. The learning process may involve a purely academic activity (such as writing a literature review) and may relate specifically to an aspect of your practice (such as the development of a learning package or a patient information leaflet), however, it will not involve the assessment of practice.

Before starting a Negotiated Learning (NGL) module you must discuss your topic and learning outcomes with the Module Leader.

The running of this module is dependent on there being sufficient numbers of interest.
