Building on your own previous experience and background, either from your studies at university or beyond, the programme will expand and develop your creative leadership skills.

Designed and delivered in close collaboration with leading regional arts, cultural and creative organisations, the programme provides you with the theoretical framework, appropriate skills and practical experience to meet the challenges of working in your chosen field within Arts, Cultural and the Creative Business sector.    

We encourage applications from as wide a range of backgrounds and specialisms as possible. The course can also be tailored to suit people already working in the sector who wish to gain experience in leadership and management, or to accelerate career development.

Outstanding response to university 1000-mile bus tour

Students from the University of Cumbria will be over 450 miles into a 1000-mile tour of Northern England and Ireland by the end of this week, helping people to find their place at university. So far, students have taken over 450 enquiries from people looking to start university this year or next. Students have spoken to people from such far off places as Colombia and one individual is known to have travelled 105 miles from his home in Dublin to visit the bus in Belfast just to get some advice.

Cumbria expert gives views on Domestic Abuse Bill

A senior lecturer in applied psychology from the University of Cumbria who specialises in researching domestic abuse has given evidence to a parliamentary committee working to draw up new guidance on the issue. Dr Liz Bates has spent years researching the issue particularly cases of men being abused by female partners.
