Combine acting, singing and dance while working with high-profile directors and choreographers to become a graduate who can confidently step into this competitive industry.

We have designed our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course so you explore musical theatre performance history and cultural contexts but with ample opportunities to devise, script and compose your own projects - so the professional artist in you will be given every chance to flourish.

The University of Cumbria and Cartmell Shepherd are joining forces to present an evening of music and entertainment which will include performances from international opera singer Valerie Reid and Carlisle's own baritone Andrew Johnston. Proceeds from the evening will help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice and Cumbria Wheelchair Sports Club.

Fine art friends win prestigious British Council Fellowships for world-famous Venice Biennale

Best friends Aimee McCallum and Lauren Wilson will spend a month immersed in and working at the world-famous Venice Biennale when it takes place later this year. The fine art students have been awarded Venice Fellowships by the British Council. Held in one of the world’s most romantic and architecturally important cities, the Venice Biennale has a history stretching back more than 120 years and is recognised as one of the world’s most important artistic events.
