From M6 junction 36, take A684 heading towards Windermere
Passing Kendal, take the A591 to Windermere
On reaching Windermere, remain on A591 a follow signs for Ambleside
On reaching the town, continue on the A591 (one way)
Cross the mini-roundabout on Rydal Road and the campus is immediately on your right.
There are no direct train services to Ambleside, but there is an hourly service to Windermere train station (6 km) and a regular bus service connecting the two towns.
Situated in the heart of the Lake District, Ambleside has everything you would expect from a campus set in this great national park, England’s most beautiful landscape.
You will find a range of study facilities, accommodation, e-resources available 24/7, and a climbing wall. The Barn provides a flexible learning space with social and study areas and it also houses the campus library. The Barn café is available for snacks and beverages.
The town is very pretty and is a vibrant, buzzing environment. It’s served by regular bus services and arriving by car is also straightforward, with Ambleside about 30 minutes’ drive from J36 of the M6.
