Candidates would normally be expected to hold a UK Bachelor degree or equivalent from an accredited or approved college or university, normally with at least a lower second class or equivalent grade. If an applicant’s first language is not English he/she must be able to demonstrate oral and written fluency in English. Working or studying in an English-speaking environment will usually be sufficient to demonstrate an acceptable competence. Otherwise, applications for admission must be accompanied by a certificate of competency in the English language from a recognized institution or programme. English language requirements for non- English-speaking students are a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum 6 in each component) or minimum TOEFL score of 600, or equivalent.
Each qualified applicant is invited to complete an interview with the Dean of RKC or nominee in person or by telephone. The main purpose of the interview is to select motivated applicants with the ability to benefit from and a solid commitment to the programme.
In their efforts to create and support widening participation the University of Cumbria and Robert Kennedy College actively encourage applications from all ages, of any gender, ethnic and/or social background and from students with disabilities.
