Introduction to Focused Shockwave Therapy (F-ESWT)
Are you a Graduate Sport Rehabilitator, Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, Osteopath, , Chiropractor, Podiatrists or GP, or other health professional, looking to expand your clinical practice, or gain insight into new evidence based modalities for the management of common MSK pathology? The University of Cumbria is offering a 1-day course in Focussed Shockwave Therapy (F-ESWT), the evidence base and its current uses within MSK management. This course covers both theoretical and practical learning, ensuring practical experience and competence is achieved in F-ESWT. This course aims to provide a base for the University F-ESWT CPD portfolio, with more pathology specific courses to be offered in the near future.

Event Overview
The course will introduce the theoretical concepts of:
- Focused Shockwave and its possible use within rehabilitation.
- Understand the physiological effects of Focussed Shockwave.
Introduce the contraindications of Focused Shockwave, and application guidelines.
Apply Focussed Shockwave, in the treatment of common, chronic soft tissue pathology.
You will also learn how to:
- Develop an understanding of how Focused Shockwave could be implemented within clinical practice.
- A course handbook will be provided on the day.
